His Excellency A.N.M Ousainu Darboe, popularly known as Lawyer Darboe, is a revered and distinguished Gambian statesman and legal expert.
He is the current leader and Secretary General of the United Democratic Party (UDP), as well as a former Vice President of the Republic of The Gambia. His Excellency Darboe has also served as Minister of Women's Affairs and Minister of Foreign Affairs under President Adama Barrow's administration.
His passion for law, order, and governance has been the foundation of his career. He earned his LLB Honours degree from the University of Lagos and was called to the Federal Bar of Nigeria, and was subsequently called to The Gambia Bar in 1973. His thirst for knowledge and commitment to governance later led him to pursue a Master’s degree in law (LLM) from the University of Ottawa, Canada.
He began his legal career at the Attorney General’s Chambers, and held various positions, including State Counsel, Acting Registrar-General, and Legal Draftsman. His reputation grew as he became known for defending civilians detained during the politically turbulent times in The Gambia. He stood for what's right: for justice and human rights, as he always has.
In February 2017, his proven competence, integrity, and patriotism earned him the role of Minister of Foreign Affairs, where he played an essential role in shaping The Gambia's foreign policy and diplomacy.
Darboe’s leadership extends beyond politics. He is a truly humble servant of the state who lets even his hobbies and interests be of service. Due to his interest in sports, he became the First Vice President of The Gambia National Olympic and Sports Committee, and Chairman of The Gambia Wrestling Federation.
Above all, His Excellency Darboe is both a loving husband and a caring father.
He has created a legacy that continues to inspire future generations of leaders in The Gambia.
2. Rohey Malick Lowe
Lord Mayor of Banjul City, The Gambia

In 2024, Rohey was awarded the prestigious title of African Woman of the Year 2024 by The Voice News Magazine, a Pan-African publication based in the Netherlands. This award recognizes her significant contributions to Banjul’s development and her role as a leader on the African stage. She also won the presidency of REFELA Africa in 2022.

2024 August, she received an award titled African Woman of the Year in Nairobi, Kenya.
Rohey Malick Lowe is a trailblazing politician and entrepreneur who made history as the first female Mayor of Banjul, the capital city of The Gambia, in May 2018. She has become a driving force behind transformative governance and empowerment initiatives in her city and beyond due to her staunch commitment to public service.
Prior to her political career, she gained experience in the hospitality industry as a food and beverage controller before establishing her own business, “Wa Kerr Rohey,” which dealt in the procurement and supply of sanitary materials to hospitality institutions.
She was an active member of the Social Democrats and served on the Child Welfare Committee of Nyköping Municipality. She later became a founding member of the United Democratic Party (UDP). Her commitment to her city and its people motivated her to aspire to be Mayor of Banjul in 2018, where she beat eight other candidates, including an incumbent.
Her Excellency Rohey Malick Lowe is an epitome of a true leader. She is the President of the Network of Local Elected Women of Africa (REFELA). This role that reflects her commitment to women’s leadership across the continent. Additionally, she serves as Vice President of the Global Parliament of Mayors (GPM) and Second Vice President of the United Democratic Party (UDP). Her leadership is also recognized on various boards, including the Francis Edward Referral Hospital and the Banjul Youth Diplomats.
In 2021, she was named African Mayor of the Month (April 2021) by the United Cities of Local Government (UCLG), which further solidified her role in kocal governance on the global scale.
Mayor Rohey holds a degree in International Relations from the University of Falun in Sweden. Her academic background, in addition to her international experience, has armoured her with the skills needed to navigate the complexities of governance, and diplomacy.
A hardworker, a servant-leader, Rohey Malick Lowe empowers marginalized communities, especially women and youth. She believes in the power of the people and thus, upholds democracy in her operations as a leader.
She is passionate about creating opportunities for women and youth, championing initiatives that provides them with the skills and resources they need to thrive. Her resilience, integrity, and love for her community has made her a role model for the next generation of leaders in Gambia and beyond.
3. Mr Anis Jaziri
President of the Tunisia African Business Council (TABC)
Mr. Anis Jaziri is a pioneering business consultant and visionary leader who is deeply invested in the growth and prosperity of Africa. He currently presides over the Tunisia Africa Business Council (TABC), which he founded in 2015. Mr. Jaziri has brought together influential leaders from across the continent to champion African unity and economic development, with specificity to promoting intra-African collaboration and growth.
In addition to his leadership at TABC, Mr. Jaziri is the founder and CEO of Global-MBE, a firm which is dedicated to helping businesses navigate effective leadership and innovative business strategies. His entrepreneurial spirit and devotion to business growth are also evident in his establishment of Tunisia Connecting Africa, an initiative that aims to promote both the country’s and the continent's potential in the global marketplace.

4. Dr Desmond Williams Bikoko
Ex Mayor of Lilongwe, Malawi

Dr. Desmond Williams Bikoko is a Malawian public figure and entrepreneur. He is best known as founder of Madison Group of Companies and as former Mayor of Lilongwe, the Capital City of Malawi, from 2017 to 2019. His leadership focused on urban development and improving service delivery in Lilongwe.

• Education: Dr. Bikoko has an extensive academic background, including earning a Doctorate in Business Administration from North Central University in the United States of America. His education also includes international studies in urban development and business management.

Basamba Drammeh is an enthusiastic human rights activist and social entrepreneur who boasts of a broad and impactful career that spans various sectors, including human rights, social work, international trade, and development. He is currently the founder of Smart Dwellings in The Gambia, and also serves as the President of the Association of Social Workers in The Gambia, a role he has held since 2019. Basamba is also the Business Development Manager at C&M Corporate Management, where he has been driving business growth since 2017.
Basamba’s dedication to human rights and social justice is noticeable in his academic and professional pursuits. He holds a Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action from Sciences Po, Paris, with specializations in Diplomacy and African Studies. His academic journey was deeply inspired by the Gambian President Adama Barrow, to whom he dedicated his degree. In a heartfelt letter, Basamba credited His Excellency Barrow’s historic lecture at Sciences Po as the catalyst for his pursuit of higher education, which culminated in his becoming the only Gambian graduate from this prestigious institution.
In addition to his work in social justice, Basamba has played a significant role in promoting African content and voices through social media. As the Director of Communications for the West Africa Social Media Association (WASMA), he has been instrumental in organizing awards that recognize and motivate social media influencers who use their platforms to elevate African narratives and culture.
Basamba’s dedication to community service is further reflected in his involvement with the Abubakary Jawara Foundation, where he has been a key member. The foundation, under the leadership of Dr. Abubakary Jawara, has made significant contributions to the needy and vulnerable populations in The Gambia, particularly through food distributions especially during Ramadan.
With a diverse professional background, Basamba brings a unique and holistic perspective to his work. His deep understanding of both public administration and the private sector capacitates him to bridge gaps and build strong networks that support his mission of social justice and economic development.
Basamba’s career is a testimony to his commitment to human rights, social work, and the betterment of society, therefore making him a prominent figure in both The Gambia and the broader African community.
6. Chris Eruba

Chris Eruba is a Nigerian Diplomat, ‘BUSINESS, INVESTMENT & DEVELOPMENT (BID) CONSULTANT who was recently appointed as the Country Representative of the Tunisia Africa Business Council (TABC) in Nigeria, member of the organizing committee of FITA 2025, Managing Director of Tunisia-Nigeria Toursim office (TUNITO) and the Pioneer Director General of the Tunisia-Nigeria Chamber of Commerce.
TABC is focused on fostering inter-African trade and investment, as well as building partnerships among economic operators across Africa.
His appointment was announced by TABC’s President Anis Jaziri during a formal event in Tunis, Tunisia, where Eruba was recognized for his commitment to promoting the council’s goals and projects in Nigeria.
In his role, Eruba is expected to strengthen collaborations between Nigerian businesses and other African partners under TABC’s initiatives, contributing to the advancement of intra-African economic integration.
Before his appointment as TABC Country Representative, Mr Eruba was formerly a project partner at the Embassy of Hungary in Abuja, Nigeria and Special Adviser to the Former Managing Director of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA), Managing Director of Berg Global Services, Managing Director of Caprock Integrated Services, Managing Director of Intel Communications, Managing Director of Diplomatic Communications, and Managing Director of April Hotels & Hospitality.
Chris Eruba holds a Bsc in Geography and Environmental Management, MSc in International Relations and an ongoing Masters in Business Administration as well as other certifcate courses and trainings in Business, Management and Leadership.
Mr. Eruba is widely traveled and have participated in various international conferences, trainings and workshops across the globe.
Currently, he is Representing Ceci EDUCARE and its programmes and Projects in Nigeria.
7. Hon. Mahamadou Ceesay
Chairma of Basse, The Gambia
CEO / Founder of Genius Innovation
Mahamadou Ceesay, an indigene of Diabugu Batapa village in the Upper River Region (URR), has an impeccable leadership pedigree that spans sports, finance, community organization and local governance.
He has a 15-year record of accomplishment in leadership, business management, sports administration,community services and activism both at national and international levels. Shortly after completing his secondary school education, he became branch manager for Diabugu Batapha Money Transfer. In 2011, he left Money Transfer to become Tostan CEP Facilitator and subsequently promoted as Micro-Finance Supervisor.
Mahamadou, the current chairperson of the Basse Area Council serves as the political head of the third
largest local government area in the Gambia. An area home to over 376 communities of people of diverse
ethnic and cultural backgrounds. After his victory in the 2023 local government elections, the members of
the Gambia Association of Local Government Authorities unanimously elected him as the President of
the Association. Making him the youngest politician to have held this role in history.
Mahamadou, known for his perfect leadership, has also served in many regional, national, and international youth organizations. He was a Regional Chairperson for Activista the Gambia and Regional Focal Person for West Africa Network for Peace Building (WANEP), the Gambia in URR. Due to this visionary leadership, he was elected as Chairperson of the Regional Youth Committee of Upper River Region in 2018-2020 a responsible body to coordinate and supervise all youth activities as mandated by an Act of Parliament. The said Board served as Advisor to the Government on all youth related matters under the Ministry of Youth and Sport.
Mahamadou worked as the Operations Manager for JFIN Money Transfer Serice Provincial Branches. He is an entrepreneur, a CEO / Founder of Genius Innovation for IT Solution and Language Consultancy. He holds a Diploma in Information Technology from The Gambia Telecommunications and Multi-Media Institute (GTMI).
Mahamadou has made some tremendous gains in the area of football development in his native region, URR. He was a former player and Coach of Palley FC, a locally based club in the administrative town of URR, Basse. He is the current President of Soninkara Sports Association, Co-Founder of Wagadu Football Club competing at the 2nd divisional level in Gambia, he served as 2nd Vice President Upper River Region Football Association (URRFA).
Prior to this, he served as Competition & Technical Department Manager of URR Football Association,while he doubles as the Technical Director of his own native community football association (Diabugu Batapa).
Mahamadou was one time the Secretary General of Basse High-level Football Committee (a body responsible of organizing grass root football tournament which was purported for talent scouting) and highly committed and also providing his technical support to many community football associations
within URR.

Prof. Edet B. Ekpenyong is the second Son and the third child of the seven children from the family of His Royal Highness Muri Bassey BasseyEkpenyong and Madam Christiana Bassey Ekpenyong the Traditional Ruler of Ikot-okohoAnakwa Clan of Calabar South Local Government Area of Cross River State, South-South Nigeria. After obtaining his West African Senior School Certificate (O’level Certificate)from the Hope Waddell Training Institution,Calabar Cross River State, he also obtainedLagos State Polytechnic and obtained National Diploma in Accounting before proceeded to obtain a Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations and Diplomacy, from University of Ibadan.
Due to Ekpenyong’s high aspiration for knowledge and desire for world peace, he took a bold step to widen his knowledge in the field of peace, he obtained Admission into the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) and took a course in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolutionand backed an M.Sc. in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution and subsequently pursued a Ph.D program in Diplomacy and InternationalRelations with the Central Christian University of Malawi, and was later admitted into the Academic Department of the University where he rose to the rank of a Professor after years of Excellence contributions in upgrading the Academic Standard of the University.
He was also honoured by the Nigeria Campus of the Corner Stone University, Jerusalem, Israel with a Doctorate Degree (Honoris CAUSA) in Business Administration. After many years of intense and fruitful contributions in peace work, he was appointed Professor of Peace and Conflict Management by Freedom University & Theological Seminary, Africa Campus on 1stOctober, 2020.
In 2021 he was honoured with the “PrincierOrdre” of Royan, by the Duke of Royan and subsequently appointed by His Highness, the Duke of Royan as the Ambassador Extra-ordinary and Plenipotentiary of Royan to Nigeria. He is currently the Country Director to Nigeria and Head of Mission, International Society of Diplomats and a Knight of the Catholic Church.
He is the Director General, College of Diplomatic Studies and International Relations, Vice President African Affairs, Supreme Council of Parliament for Arab African Economy, a Chartered Fellow, Central Christian University of Malawi.
He was appointed International Patron, Sardar Patel Peace and Unity Award, Nigeria Country Director, Europolice Federation, member European Auxiliary Police Association, Deputy National Commandant, Administration, Peace Corps of Nigeria where he served till 2021.
He made a mark in the field of sportsdevelopment, in and outside of Nigeria which earned him an exulted appointment as the Executive Board Member, Atal Bharat Sports & Cultural Association, of India. The Board Chairman, Tongil-Moo-Do Association of Nigeria a Unified Martial Arts group of South Korean Origin, an International Ambassador for Peace by the Universal Peace Federation,District Governor, De-Boss Friendship Club in Nigeria, Founder, Pan-African Girl Child Education Foundation an organization that enjoys Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council, President, World Dynasty Pageant and National Patron of the African Sporting Initiative.
His special interest in human capital development was noticed and appreciated by the National Chronicle Magazine and was honoured as a Personality on the Marble “Eminent Nigerian as Role Model” and was also presented with a Global Leadership of Integrity, Transparency/Accountability, Award from the same Magazine, he is also a member of Abuja Country Club. To the glory of the Almighty God, he was nominated to represent Nigeria Five (5) times in Japan, under the International Relief Friendship Foundation.
It has often been said that, Peace is not simply the absence of war or violence; but the cultivation of understanding, insight and compassion, combined with action. With this understanding, Ekpenyong did not hesitate to give all it takes, in any activity related to Diplomacy, Peace and Conflict Resolution, hence his career decision and it has accorded him the title of a Peace Maker and was wassubsequently awarded as Peace Ambassador, by the World Organization of Ambassadors, he was also named as person of the Decade by the Association of Beauty Queens, Kings and Models in Nigeria.
He is a professional member of Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria; he hasattended several special workshops and seminars within and outside Nigeria. Notable among others are, the United Nations Earth Summit on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil 2012, United Nations Environment Programme Conference in Nairobi, Kenya 2012, United Nations General Assembly at UN Headquarters in New York in 2013, 2014, 2015 and the just concluded Summit of the Future 2024, United Nations Conference on Global Disaster Reduction at UN Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, International Workshop on Urban Development in University of North Texas, Denton, United States of America in 2016, where he presented a paper as one of the discussants on Rural Sustainability.
He also attended a 3-day workshop, organized by Association of Forensic Practitioners of Nigeria in 2018, National Youth Summit on Drugs, Substance Abuse and Prevention,organized by African Youth Initiative on Crime Prevention and a 12-day workshop on Family Value organized by the Family Federation for World Peace in 1997 at the Peace training centre, Abeokuta Ogun State.
He is married, has a son and he is also acomputer literate; his hobbies include listening to News and Music, Creative ventures and Sports. Publisher of several Books and Journals on International Diplomacy and Peace.

Nana Kwame Edu VI, the Tufohene of Oguaa Traditional Area, also known as Kofi Kwan Amuah, a man of many parts; an ubiquitous.

As a soloist she has performed R & B and pop music covers, but on her path to find her artistic soul she joined the music band Saïsba. Saïsba is an international group Sofy sings afro beat and afro fusion. Meanwhile she pursued her soloist career taking part in the Finnish competition, Our vision in 2007. She won the second place during Our vision 2007 contest in Finlandiatalo which accommodated an audience of over 10,000 people. She sang her own song composed by her dad. In 2008 she participated again in the Our vision contest where she was placed third place, then she won the first place in 2018. Thanks to the award she flew to France to represent Finland and compete against 51 other countries and she got a place in the top 5 singers. In 2014 I started working in health field at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital as Data Entry Clerk at Peadiatric Out patient department clinic (POPD) responsible for clinical services. providing patient folders, checking on patient vital signs, appointment booking and most importantly prepared monthly statistics on cases seen at the clinic. During my time at Peadiatric clinic I build strong bones with all my patients from Respiratory, Cardiac, heamatology, Neurology patients seen at the clinic. Bass on the data I provide I realized that I loss lot of my cardiac patients due to lack of cardiac surgery which isn't available in the Gambia I responsibility upon myself by recruiting patients for chain of hope UK bass charitable organization through Dr Khalifa Bojang and Dr Abatan from MRC I was acting coordinator chain of hope at Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital Peadiatric department the organization sponsored children with heart disease to undergo cardiac surgery in overseas. In 2015 i recruited 15 cardiac patients for free cardiac surgery in Israel through office of first lady foundation in the Gambia and Sach foundation in Israel.
In 2021 December I registered my own foundation called ML Heart Foundation it's charitable organization that sponsored cardiac patients from Age zero to 17 years through our foreign partner association in turkey children health foundation and Sach foundation in Israel. 115 cardiac patients benefited and had successful surgery, 113 of the cardiac patients had their surgery in turkey and 2 of the patients in Israel.
I also served as public relations officer of Lamin Keita's hope foundation and a member of the board of Gambia chapter. Lamin Keita's hope it's nonprofit organization that sponsored patients with Spina bifida and hydrocephalus in the Gambia.
I started my professional career in entrepreneurship 2023 I registered ML Simpro Health company at Anthony General Chambers where I was certified to operate business in the Gambia and abroad. ML Simpro Health company involved in buying and selling of pharmaceutical goods and services. Ml Simpro Health runs hospital tourism services for self sponsor and government sponsor patients that are qualified for overseas treatment we facilitate hospitals for the patients through our partner hospitals in turkey.
